3 Common Denture Myths That Just Arent True

Today, we’re explaining and diffusing 3 common myths surrounding dentures.

  1. Dentures are only manufactured for older people. Actually age has very little to do with it. People get dentures due to loss of all or some of their natural teeth. Tooth loss can occur due to gum disease, tooth decay or injury. Some people get dentures for purely cosmetic purposes.
  2. Dentures don’t require as much care as your natural teeth.  In some cases they actually need more. They need to be cleaned daily. If they are removable you also need to clean teeth and gums hidden normally covered by your dentures.
  3. No More Dental checkups.  Over time, mouths will shift and change as bone loss continues.  Having you dentures relined and repaired regularly will ensure that they fit properly. Visiting your dentist regularly will also verify your overall oral health.
