For some people in Calgary, denture repair might mean taking a tube of superglue to their dentures to fix cracks or breaks. At Future Smiles, we’d like to remind you that superglue is not the answer to repairing your broken dentures! Dentures that look good and fit properly are very important in being able to fully enjoy your life, so a band-aid fix like superglue is not going to cut it.

Future Smiles Denture Clinic in SW Calgary is your answer to fast, efficient and quality denture repair.

Ever wondered how denture repair is done? Here are a few of the types of denture repairs our denturist Vlad Dumbrava does for patients of Future Smiles Denture Clinic.

Denture Reline

When the bones and tissues in your mouth change size or shrink, it’s time for a reline. Relining dentures involves adding fresh acrylic base material to the tissue portion of your dentures. Doing this helps make the denture fit better. In order to get the right fit, Vlad will take an impression of the current denture as a model for the repaired version.

The tissues and bones in your mouth could have changed size due to a variety of factors, including tooth loss, weight loss, sickness, aging or bone loss in your jaw.

Denture Rebase

When the pink acrylic part of your dentures begins wearing out, a denture rebase is in order. This means saving the teeth of the denture, but remaking the pink portion. With s fully rebased denture, you’ll find your dentures fit more snugly and comfortably.

You may need a rebase if the pink part of your dentures is wearing out or breaks.

Denture Repair

Denture repair is in order if your dentures become cracked or broken. Vlad Dumbrava at Future Smiles Denture Clinic does emergency denture repair to get you back into dentures that fit perfectly in the least possible time, allowing you to get back to having fun!

Dentures might break over time when they get old, if they don’t fit properly, or if tooth loss continues.
