CDCP Denture Coverage Now Includes Adults 45+: Are You Eligible?

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) has expanded to include denture coverage for adults aged 45 and up. If you’ve been putting off getting dentures due to cost, this expansion could be a game-changer. Future Smiles Denture Clinic in Calgary is here to help you understand your eligibility, guide you through the CDCP process, and deliver the care you need—whether that’s complete dentures, partial dentures, or adjustments to your current set. If you’re in Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, or Okotoks and are aged 45 or older, contact Future Smiles Denture Clinic today to find out if you qualify and book your consultation.

The cost of dentures can be overwhelming for many Canadians, especially for adults under 65 who don’t yet qualify for senior dental benefits. Fortunately, the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) has expanded its age eligibility. If you’re aged 45 or older, you may now qualify for covered denture services through this federal program.

At Future Smiles, we’ve already helped patients navigate the CDCP to get the care they need, without the stress of upfront costs. Whether you’re missing a few teeth or need a complete set of dentures, this expansion could mean significant savings and access to treatment sooner than expected.

What Is the CDCP and What’s New?

The CDCP is a national dental coverage program designed for Canadians without private dental insurance and with household incomes below $90,000. It launched in 2023 and is being rolled out in phases.

As of 2025, adults aged 45 to 64 are now being included—an important expansion that opens up denture access to working adults and early retirees who may have lost coverage.

Are Dentures Covered Under CDCP?

Yes. Denture services, including: complete dentures, partial dentures, and denture adjustments or relines, are included in the CDCP plan. The amount covered depends on your income:

  • 100% coverage for households under $70,000
  • Partial coverage for households between $70,000 and $89,999

While not every service is fully covered, the CDCP significantly reduces out-of-pocket costs for most patients.

Eligibility Checklist

To qualify, you must:

  • Be a Canadian resident
  • Have no access to private dental insurance
  • Have a household income under $90,000
  • Be aged 45 or older (as of this rollout phase)
