Cost and coverage

Fit and comfort

How long does it take to get used to new dentures?

Many people adjust within a few weeks. Speaking and chewing feel more natural with practice, and sore spots can be relieved with a quick adjustment at either clinic.

How often should dentures be relined?

Many denturists suggest checking the fit every one to two years, or sooner if your denture rocks, rubs or traps food. Learn more about denture relines.

What is the difference between a reline and a rebase?

A reline adds a new layer to the fitting surface, while a rebase replaces the whole pink base and keeps your existing teeth.

Will implants make my denture more stable?

Implant-supported dentures clip onto dental implants and are much more stable than conventional dentures, especially on the lower jaw. See implant dentures.

Repairs and care

What should I do if my denture breaks?

Keep every piece, avoid home glue and call 403-475-0016 early in the day. Many denture repairs can be completed the same day in our in-house lab.

How should I clean my dentures?

Brush daily with a soft denture brush and non-abrasive cleaner, soak overnight and avoid hot water or bleach. Patients receive one complimentary professional cleaning a year.

How long do dentures last?

Many dentures last several years with good care, but gums and bone change over time. Regular check-ups, relines and eventually a rebase or replacement keep them fitting well.

New dentures

Can I have teeth on the day my teeth are removed?

Yes, with immediate dentures. They are planned before your extractions and placed the same day, then adjusted and relined as your gums heal.

What is the difference between full and partial dentures?

Complete dentures replace every tooth on a jaw. Partial dentures replace some teeth and attach to the natural teeth you keep.

Are flexible dentures a good option?

Flexible partials such as Valplast are lightweight and have no metal clasps. They suit many people missing a few teeth but are harder to modify later.
