Emergency denture repairs in Calgary. Let’s get you smiling again.
A chipped, cracked or broken denture can stop you from eating, speaking and smiling the way you normally do. Same-day denture repair may be available, depending on the damage. Call us and tell us what happened.
Common reasons for a denture fracture.
A fractured denture is one of the most serious denture complications. It tends to happen more often with the upper denture, but can affect the lower as well.
Wear and tear
After years of chewing and daily use, a denture has been through many stress cycles. Hot and cold foods and drinks, and some acidic foods, can also wear it down.
Progressive bone loss
As bone is lost, the jaw shrinks and the denture becomes loose. That lack of stability can lead to a break.
Accidental breakage
Accidents can happen during everyday activities such as removing and cleaning your denture.
Extending the life of your denture.
If your dentures are worn, ill-fitting or fractured, your denturist can determine whether they can be repaired or need replacing. In many cases, a reline or rebase can extend the life of your existing denture.
Denture Relining
A reline refits your existing denture by adding new base material to the tissue side. Relines are often needed when tissues change due to:
Denture Rebase
Recommended when the denture teeth are not worn out but the acrylic base needs replacing. A new base improves stability without the cost of replacing the teeth. Often recommended for:
Understand pricing, coverage and financing before treatment.
Future Smiles offers free consultations, accepts major dental insurance including CDCP, NIHB and AISH, offers direct billing where available, and provides access to Medicard financing for eligible treatment.
Sore spots? It may be your bite.
If you are experiencing pain or sore spots, an uneven bite may be causing pressure in one area of the jaw. A simple adjustment by your denturist can often correct this.
Never adjust or repair a denture at home
Home repairs can cause further damage to your denture. Bring it to your denturist instead.
The importance of regular relines and rebases.
For dentures to work properly they need to fit correctly. Ill-fitting dentures can reduce quality of life and lead to:
Every one to two years
Relines help maintain your oral health and prevent further tissue loss, which is why one is recommended every one to two years.

When is it time for a new denture?
Damaged or poorly fitting dentures compromise both appearance and comfort. Signs that a denture may need replacing include:
Maintaining the quality of your dentures.
Just like natural teeth, dentures need careful cleaning every day.

Emergency and same-day denture repairs in Calgary
A broken denture can make it hard to eat, speak or go to work. Future Smiles repairs cracked bases, broken or missing teeth and broken clasps in our in-house Calgary lab, which means many repairs can be completed the same day.
| Clinic | Repair hours | Phone |
|---|---|---|
| Coral Springs, NE Calgary | Mon–Fri 10 am–6 pm · Sat 10 am–2 pm | 403-475-0016 |
| Macleod Trail, SW Calgary | Mon–Fri 10 am–6 pm | 403-475-0016 |
For the best chance of a same-day repair, call as early in the day as you can and bring every broken piece. Do not try to glue the denture yourself; household glue can damage the acrylic and make a professional repair harder.
Denture repair questions, answered.
Can my broken denture be repaired the same day?
Same-day denture repair may be available, depending on the type of damage and when the denture can be assessed. Simple cracks and replacing a broken tooth are often completed the same day in our Calgary lab. Call 403-475-0016 early so the team can advise you.
What should I do if my denture breaks?
Keep every piece, store them in a clean container and call the clinic. Do not use superglue or a home repair kit, because they can distort the fit and weaken the acrylic. If a sharp edge is irritating your mouth, leave the denture out until it is repaired.
Should I repair or replace a broken denture?
A single break in a well-fitting denture is usually worth repairing. If your denture breaks repeatedly, fits poorly or has worn teeth, a reline, rebase or new denture may be the better long-term answer. Your denturist will explain the options.
Can you repair a denture that wasn't made at Future Smiles?
Yes. Future Smiles repairs dentures made by other clinics and labs. Bring the denture and any broken pieces to either clinic so the team can assess the damage.
Do I need a referral to see a denturist in Calgary?
No. You can contact Future Smiles directly to book a free consultation at our Coral Springs (NE) or Macleod Trail (SW) clinic. If your situation needs coordination with your dentist or another oral health provider, our team will discuss that with you.
Does insurance or CDCP cover this service?
Future Smiles accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), NIHB, AISH and major dental insurance plans, with direct billing where available. Coverage, eligibility and co-payments vary by plan, so our team reviews your expected patient portion with you before treatment begins. Medicard financing is also available for eligible treatment.
