The concern
This patient had a flipper denture replacing three upper front teeth. Flipper dentures are clasped along the gums and can be visible when a patient smiles.
The cause
The flipper did not have good retention, so it moved in every direction, and the patient was not happy with how it looked.
What we did
We created a flexible Valplast denture designed to look natural and hold more securely.
The outcome
The new denture looked great and considerably reduced movement. One unexpected benefit: the patient regained taste in an area the old denture had covered.

What is a Valplast denture?
Valplast is a brand of flexible partial denture made from a thin nylon-based material. It grips natural teeth with gum-coloured clasps instead of metal.
Is a flexible denture better than a flipper?
A flipper is usually a temporary acrylic partial. A flexible partial is designed for longer-term wear and is often more comfortable, more stable and less visible.
